Job Description

The individual assigned to the role of Upwork Bidder will have the primary responsibility of scouring the Upwork platform for job postings that align with the company’s expertise and capabilities, evaluating them, and submitting bids to secure new projects and contracts. 

It will be incumbent upon the Bidder to craft persuasive proposals that effectively highlight the company’s strengths and competitive edge, making them appealing to potential clients. 

Furthermore, the Bidder will engage with clients, manage communication, and negotiate contract terms, all while representing the best interests of the company.

Key Responsibilities as a Business Development Executive

  • Identifying and evaluating suitable job postings on Upwork
  • Developing and submitting competitive, relevant, and compelling bids and proposals
  • Communicating with clients to gather project requirements and provide project updates
  • Managing communications with clients, both before and after project completion
  • Negotiating contract terms and conditions on behalf of the company
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients to encourage repeat business
  • Monitoring and analyzing competitor activity on Upwork to ensure the company remains competitive
  • Collaborating with the team to ensure that proposals are consistent with the company’s branding and messaging
  • Tracking and reporting on bid performance to inform future bidding strategies.

Requirements for a Business Development Executive

  • Proven experience in successfully bidding on and winning projects on Upwork
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey the company’s strengths and capabilities
  • Proficient in English
  • Ability to create compelling proposals that stand out from competitors
  • Experience in negotiating contracts and terms with clients to ensure favorable outcomes for the company
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple bids and projects simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate and error-free proposals and communications
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to collaborate effectively with other departments and team members
  • Familiarity with Upwork policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance and maximize success
  • Good understanding of market trends, customer behavior, and industry developments in the relevant domain to adapt bidding strategies and stay ahead of the competition.

Education and Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
